About the job
Acceler8 Talent is partnered with a well-funded semiconductor startup pioneering next-generation in-memory compute architectures (with a twist) to help them find a Senior Silicon Validation Engineer to join their team.
The company’s technology is redefining how AI workloads are executed—merging novel analog compute-in-memory hardware with advanced digital system design to achieve industry-leading energy efficiency and scalability.
In this role, you’ll take ownership of post-silicon validation of PCIe subsystems (Gen5 & beyond) across advanced SoC platforms. You’ll define test strategies, develop automation infrastructure, and work hands-on with bring-up, firmware integration, and system characterization. This is a highly collaborative position interfacing with architecture, design, and firmware teams to ensure robust PCIe functionality and top-tier performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead PCIe subsystem validation and bring-up across multiple SoC platforms.
- Define and execute test plans covering link training, compliance, throughput, and stress testing.
- Integrate and debug low-level firmware for PCIe initialization and configuration (RISC-V/ARM environments).
- Perform root-cause analysis using lab tools such as oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, and BERTs.
- Develop automation scripts (Python/C/C++) to streamline validation and data collection.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with design, firmware, and SI/PI teams to optimize system reliability.
Qualifications
- BSEE/BSCE or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of SoC validation experience, including 2+ years in post-silicon PCIe subsystem validation.
- Strong C/C++ and scripting (Python, Perl) skills for low-level firmware and automation.
- Deep understanding of PCIe architecture, protocol layers, and compliance testing.
- Hands-on experience with silicon bring-up tools (JTAG, Lauterbach, protocol analyzers).
- Familiarity with embedded systems, firmware bring-up, and system performance tuning.
